Finding Home at PH Apartments: Dinners, Volunteering, and Scholarships

“Living at Pres House Apartments has already been such a positive experience for me in these first 2 months. The donor-funded CEO scholarship has given me a great sense of peace of mind during a busy semester, allowing me to focus more on my studies and involvement without constantly worrying about finances. On top of that, the location is so convenient, which makes day-to-day life smoother and less stressful. I’ve felt very supported knowing that programs like this exist with so much thought behind them.

One of my favorite experiences so far has been attending PHamily Dinners. I’m grateful to my roommates for encouraging me to come along, because those dinners gave me a chance to meet people I might not have crossed paths with otherwise- including one resident who had completed a half Ironman, which was really inspiring to hear about! The atmosphere was welcoming, and it made me realize how unique it is to live in a community where conversations like that can happen right at the dinner table.

I’ve also enjoyed giving back by volunteering with the Frozen Meals Program, since it’s such an awesome way to contribute to the wider Madison community. Looking ahead, I’m excited about making my space feel more like home- especially decorating my balcony- and continuing to participate in events that bring people together here. So far, I’ve really appreciated how intentional each program and scholarship at Pres House has been, and I’m looking forward to seeing how those opportunities shape my experience throughout the year.”
